The Board of Trustees meeting to select Yek Min Ek Foundation scholars for 2023 held on 13.09.2023 was chaired by Mr Yek Siew Liong and attended by trustees Mr Hii Ching Chiong, Dr Wong Ching Seh, Mr Law Siong Lee, Mr Timothy Yek Li-Yuan and trustee/secretary Mdm Edith Kiu Poh Een.
Criteria for selection is needy students outstanding in study and conduct, irrespective of their ethnicity and the discipline they choose to pursue to mitigate their financial constraints. The key significance is to help them discover their potential, develop their capabilities so that they can make practical contribution towards the country’s development in general and to Sarawak in particular, and appreciate the spirit of giving back.
There are 10 continuing scholars from previous years.
The Board selected 8 new scholars for 2023 and wishes every student that applied every success in their endeavours. Students not selected this year should not lose heart but may re-apply next year.
